Simplicity, Uniqueness, Exclusivity

These three words embody the essence of Styled by Nairobi and Nairobi Jewelry Studio.

For founder Nairobi, her journey into professional styling and jewelry design began naturally.

“My friends and family would always come to me for advice on putting a look together,” she shares. After styling friends who appeared on television, referrals quickly followed, and for the past two years, she’s been building her brand through word-of-mouth and intentional craftsmanship. Accessories are those little gems that make a big impact — sustainable, versatile, and always designed to stand out.

As a mother, entrepreneur, and community leader, Nairobi continues to juggle multiple responsibilities. But she’s learned that balance is more about flexibility than routine. “Balance is accepting change and rolling with the punches,” she says. “I have a 13-year-old daughter who’s watching me, and I know I’m shaping the person she will become. That keeps me grounded. I move with integrity and purpose, always knowing my vision is a gift from the Most High.

“When I was laid off a few years ago, I took it as an opportunity to serve”

Her identity as a woman of color plays a central role in her business philosophy. “Being a woman of color entrepreneur carries a different standard. We are soldiers that wear crowns — even during war — and my work is about keeping that crown in place,” she explains. “My advice to other women is simple: know your worth, collaborate, and stay close to others who do too. Together is a verb — it’s about action, showing up, and uplifting those around us.

Beyond fashion and jewelry, Nairobi is passionate about community service and mentorship. One of her most meaningful projects has been working with the Afro Latino Collective. Now the event coordinator for the organization, she helps lead its annual festival, drawing thousands of attendees. “This work bridges the gap between Black and Brown communities, celebrating the contributions of Afro Latino culture. It’s more than an event — it’s living out my mission of togetherness and shifting the culture.

“We are special beings. We think differently. We are soldiers who wear crowns, even in battle,” she says. “Unfortunately, we’re losing our crowns, little by little. That’s why it’s so important for women of color in business to lead with self-worth and integrity.”

Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs? “Know your worth. Surround yourself with people who also know theirs. Collaboration is key—we’re stronger together. And never underestimate the power of a kind word. A simple ‘hello’ or ‘how are you?’ can open doors and build trust within our community.”

Giving Back Through Community Work

Beyond fashion and jewelry, Nairobi pours her heart into nonprofit work. One of her most fulfilling projects has been her role as event coordinator for the Afro Latino Collective.

“A few years ago, I was laid off, and instead of seeing it as a setback, I used the time to give back,” she recalls. “Fast forward to today, and I’m helping organize our third annual festival, which has brought in over 5,000 guests.”

The festival is more than just an event—it’s a bridge between the Black and Brown communities, fostering education, history, and unity.

“For me, shifting the culture isn’t just a mission; it’s a way of life. Through my businesses and community work, I’m able to do that in the most organic way possible.”
